Cover art for Sorcerer’s Gamble

Don’t forget, the conclusion to The Sage of Hytrae Trilogy releases Next Week!

Sorcerer’s Gamble Update

Hey guys,

I’m afraid I don’t have book cover art to upload with me tonight (I just simply don’t have that PC with me) but I wanted to give a quick update.

I have been able to eliminate all but one pesky formatting issue for the printed book (and the one that is left I have no idea how to fix, and if I cannot fix I can live with it). So all is good to be releasing on schedule next week (wow it’s coming up fast on me). If I can remember to either send my phone the images or get on my home PC to post there I will get the artwork up for everyone to see soon.

Anyway, I just felt like I should drop a quick note (I am not letting my launch date slip a third time). So, see you guys soon!

A synopsis for The Sorcerer’s Gamble

Hey everyone!

Sorry I didn’t get this out last week. Between working long hours at work, and fighting with KDP to get the print to look right (I’m about half way through that fight right now), I just didn’t have time to post until now.

I have sent the manuscript to the copyright agency, so the ball is rolling there. I will continue to get more done on the artwork side this week as I am able. I am hoping to have new banners for both this site and facebook.

Anyway, I am posting the synopsis from the back cover of my book below to give a little tease of what is to come later this month. Enjoy!

Mistar recovered a lost research tome that reveals the plot to bring Hytrae into darkness. He must race to alert the orders of magic before it is too late! During this time, Cyan and Lucy have trained over the winter at the Northern Monastery. Lucy easily passed her trials but Cyan has yet to attempt them. Three must stand at the end of the age, and Fate has a way of forcing you hand….

The Sorcerer’s Gamble Has a release date! (for real this time)

Hey Everyone!

It has happened. I don’t think anyone thought it ever would but it has happened. I finished editing the final installment in The Sage of Hytrae trilogy! All that is left is to finalize the artwork and get it out to all of you ๐Ÿ˜€

The Sorcerer’s Gamble is releasing November 20th, 2018 and we will be running special promotions on the previous two installments as well. Over the next week I plan to give a sneak peek at the artwork, as well as, detail more about the promotion and maybe even offer a preview of the book (another one actually, as the baited fan will already know).

I whole heartily wish I had gotten this done sooner for everyone. But what’s done is done, and the final proof is done! You all will be hearing again from me real soon, so stay tuned to this channel for further details!

The Candescent Vessel kindle edition fixed

Hey everyone,

I don’t know when, and I don’t know how, but my kindle edition version of The Candescent Vessel was corrupted. Anyone who received an update (prior to 5/17/18) , or downloaded it after the corruption occurred (but before 5/17/18) has been effected. I have resolved the issue, but an update does not seem to be going out. If you were affected I applogize, and I hope to make this right. When The Sorcerer’s Gamble releases, both Kindle editions of The Crystal Seal, and The Candescent Vessel will be free for one week! This is in part to celebrate the release of the final volume in the trilogy, but also as a means to re-acquire the second volume if you were effected by the corrupted file. As the second part of my reaction to this issue, I have dropped the price of the Kindle Edition of The Candescent Vessel to $4.99 (down from $5.99) permanently.

“What happened?” you ask? Well, short story is: for an unknown amount of time when you purchased The Candescent Vessel you would only receive the cover art, and my picture.

“Really? How did you find out?”ย  A person I know bought it a couple weeks ago, and did not receive the book, but only the cover art and my picture (as handsome as I look, not worth $5.99 eh?).

“Wow, so it effected more than just them?” Yup. My wife had bought the kindle edition when it released, and this was not the case then, but it is now the case on her “bookshelf”. Also, I was able to “preview” the file and confirm the issue.

“What did you do?” I re-uploaded the correct file, waited through the approval process, then bought it again myself. This allowed me to get the whole book.

Thanks for reading, and asking such wonderful and insightful questions. Coming very soon is a Synopsis and cover art of The Sorcerer’s Gamble, so stay tuned!

May plan and update

Hey everyone,

The Sorcerer’s Gamble’s second draft is nearly complete. I have partial artwork I am working on finishing, and I hope to get that cover art posted in the next couple of weeks. My wife is a pest so I don’t know how much of this update will be coherent.

Today is May Fourth (may the fourth be with you). Like many people all over the world I have enjoyed Starwars and it has had some influence over my creativity, much like The Lord of the Rings has. I am very much a “Fantasy” writer, but science fiction enters it on the fringes since it is something I am quite interested in as well. I hope to get more updates out as soon as I can, see you all again soon.

Sorcerer’s Gamble Update

Hey everyone,

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Progress is still being made on getting the second draft of the Sorcerer’s gamble finished (I am hoping to have it done this weekend). I know I planed on getting artwork posted this month but I only have a rough sketch and the start of the actual digital work finished. Instead of posting the rough sketch I will wait until I have the digital book cover (draft two is a higher priority on my plate right now anyway). We are still sitting comfortably inside our release window, I might not get to do some of the extra stuff (advertisement related), but honestly word of mouth has sold more books than any online add for me.

Anyway, I hope everyone has had a great April. I know I have a good month, my boys are growing up so fast. The weather is finally warm here in Ohio (winter is gone!). I might start a new series this summer, I have some ideas I have kept on back burner while I focused on getting The Sage of Hytrae trilogy finished. Of course I might do nothing, or something completely different! My day job (I work for the Aviation testing industry) might be shifting some hours on us so that could help or hurt my writing time (depending on where I try to fit it in). Have a great last few days of this month, and I will see you all again next one!

How my editing process goes

Hello everyone,

Since I am in the process of reviewing the first draft of The Sorcerer’s Gamble, I thought I could let all of you know how I approach my editing process. I don’t believe I have written this out before, but it would be interesting to see what you all think.

I begin my editing by re-reading previous entries (in this case the first two books). Then I sit down with my first draft and begin creating the second draft. I call the process that I employ a “read edit”, this is because I literately edit the book while I am reading through it. I only do this for the second draft, otherwise a book would never be finished. During this process I am primarily looking at story flow, character voice, context of existing explanations, supporting details, and if the general goals of each chapter are being accomplished.

Whew that’s a lot huh? ha ha. To top it off once I start the “read edit” I try to complete it in a short window (typically less than two weeks, though I aim for five days). Since I tend to write in spurts (sometimes taking months in between writing sessions), this helps smooth out the story. This whole process provides a level of polish, and single vision for the book.

What happens next? Once I have the second draft, I print out proofs and send copies to my editing/reviewing team. This team is composed of a few individuals who I trust, that can look my book over with a critical eye. While they have it I also go back over it, looking for grammar, spelling, and such errors, which creates the third draft. I take the feedback of my team and generate a forth draft based on that input. Then I usually take another pass through, making sure the flow and grammar still work, and any changes made become draft five. After all this, the book is ready for release and I shift my focus towards promotions and advertising.

This whole process takes place over several weeks, so there won’t be too much to update on as far as that goes. I look to get some artwork out to you guys soon, and I plan to be changing the banners on this site and my Facebook soon there after.

Thanks for reading this summarized look at my editing process, I hope it’s not too confusing ha ha. Its a bit of a long post, but hey I missed last week so this makes up for it ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Sorcerer’s Gamble Update

Hey Everyone!

Great news! The first draft of The Sorcerer’s Gamble is finished! I am super excited, as I am sure all of you are as well. This marks the beginning of the editing and revision process. I might have said this before, but I put my books through no less than four edits before I go to print. Don’t worry though, we are very much on schedule for our release on June 26th this year. I will be getting the second draft to my editing helpers in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, I hope to get some early cover art on here to show all of you in the next couple of weeks as well. I will have site updates since a new book is launching, and lots of announcements to follow.ย  Until next time, keep the adventure alive!

The Sorcerer’s Gamble Promo

We began our journey following a young man named Cyan in search of adventure. He learned adventure is not carefree but often brings troubles and heartache with it.

We then heard a tale from Lucy, a young woman who found herself while on a different path then she had desired. She learned that who we are is discovered, when you fight for what you believe in.

Now, the story continues…

A new journey is coming, and a single voice will not be enough to tell it. Join Lucy, Cyan, and more on an adventure that was foretold thousands of years ago. Will Hytrae plummet into an age of darkness? Three must stand at the end of the age. In this climatic conclusion to the trilogy, a choice must be made.ย The Sage of Hytrae will determine the fate of the world.
