March Update

Hey Everyone!

This month The Crystal Seal turns 5 years old! It originally released on March 31st 2015, and kicked off The Sage of Hytrae Trilogy. As a celebration of this event The Crystal Seal ebook will be free from March 5th until the 9th. So if you haven’t had a chance please do give the first installment a read, for the best price Free!

In addition to that, you might have noticed all my currently published ebooks have dropped in price. You can now normally get The Crystal Seal for $0.99, and both The Candescent Vessel / The Sorcerer’s Gamble for $2.99. Paper backs for all books are still $9.99 sadly. This is due to printing and distribution costs.

I’m also looking into alternate forms of funding for publishing new books. I have been funding everything out of my own pocket and that causes some difficulty since my funds are limited fairly often. I will always be publishing to everyone that I can, and I won’t ask for additional pay walls for such things. So I’m not really sure what I can offer in this type of model besides maybe sneak peaks, polls, additional/alternative artworks, and possibly some form of dialog (like a discord server to ask questions and hang out?). Nothing is set in stone yet, and I am open for feedback.

Regardless, I am still hoping to get a new book written for this year. I have been quite busy so progress has been slow, so it will probably be a fall release at best again.

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time.

May God bless you and Keep you,

February Update

Hey Everyone!

Happy new year… oh little late for that haha. Yes the silence has passed, 2020 is planned to be a great year! This year The Crystal Seal is five years old this year! Crazy to think back to that time, my first book, the one that started the trilogy. Really, it was the first personal project I ever finished of any kind.

To celebrate I’m going to be throwing up a sale and price reduction on the kindle versions of all three books! Its not yet, but soon. I have some minor things I need to do first before I can throw up the sale (mostly make it more obvious that there are three books in the series haha). So I will have another post in the near future letting everyone know when the sale and price reductions are live.

Why tell everyone now then? I don’t even have a date to announce after all (I’m thinking early march ish). Well accountability is the first reason. If I tell people I’m more likely to actually get it done. Secondly, nothing is more frustrating to buy something just for it to have a price reduction, or a sale shortly after. So don’t buy kindle right now! *laughter* no one has bought it in months, but hey I can dream. Reminder, if you buy the paperback, you can get the corresponding ebook for free when you buy on amazon.

Anywho, what else? Surely that’s not all right? Well no, not all, but I have even less details about the next one. I am planning on releasing a new book this year! its not finished yet, I might have previously announced working on it, but maybe not. I know its not much to go on, well I guess next  to nothing to go on. But hey, look for something new to read towards the end of the year from me all the same. I will have more updates on this and any other projects later on.

Well happy Valentine’s everyone! Until next time, May God Bless you and Keep you.

The Candescent Vessel kindle edition fixed

Hey everyone,

I don’t know when, and I don’t know how, but my kindle edition version of The Candescent Vessel was corrupted. Anyone who received an update (prior to 5/17/18) , or downloaded it after the corruption occurred (but before 5/17/18) has been effected. I have resolved the issue, but an update does not seem to be going out. If you were affected I applogize, and I hope to make this right. When The Sorcerer’s Gamble releases, both Kindle editions of The Crystal Seal, and The Candescent Vessel will be free for one week! This is in part to celebrate the release of the final volume in the trilogy, but also as a means to re-acquire the second volume if you were effected by the corrupted file. As the second part of my reaction to this issue, I have dropped the price of the Kindle Edition of The Candescent Vessel to $4.99 (down from $5.99) permanently.

“What happened?” you ask? Well, short story is: for an unknown amount of time when you purchased The Candescent Vessel you would only receive the cover art, and my picture.

“Really? How did you find out?”  A person I know bought it a couple weeks ago, and did not receive the book, but only the cover art and my picture (as handsome as I look, not worth $5.99 eh?).

“Wow, so it effected more than just them?” Yup. My wife had bought the kindle edition when it released, and this was not the case then, but it is now the case on her “bookshelf”. Also, I was able to “preview” the file and confirm the issue.

“What did you do?” I re-uploaded the correct file, waited through the approval process, then bought it again myself. This allowed me to get the whole book.

Thanks for reading, and asking such wonderful and insightful questions. Coming very soon is a Synopsis and cover art of The Sorcerer’s Gamble, so stay tuned!

October update

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to make sure I hopped on and left a note of how things are going.  Book three is going well, I might be ready to announce the title late this month, but it is probably going to be early next month. I’ve been sick a lot the last three weeks, so that has definitely slowed me down some. I’m hopeful to have the manuscript in proof reader’s hands by mid November.

Thank you all so much for all the support during the free book promotion. After reviewing the total numbers it looks like it doubled the number of people who have my first book, which is very exciting.  I hope everyone who got to pick it up enjoys it, as many of the people I’ve talked to have.

Oh! One final announcement. I am planning on being at a book signing at Peebles’ branch of Adams County Library, (that is in Ohio if you don’t know). That event should be taking place on October 15th and I’m still working on finding out a time. I will update as soon as I have more details!

First Hytrae Short Released!

Hey everyone!

I am excited to announce that I have a short story from the Hytrae universe to share (and its free!). I have to warn everyone, there are some spoilers if you have not read The Crystal Seal or The Candescent Vessel. I would say the spoilers are medium grade, not story ruining but would prematurely expose you to information you would not have had yet before reading the first two books.

That being said, I hope everyone enjoys this short story. It takes place between The Candescent Vessel and the third  book in the trilogy. Without further ado. Here it is,

August Update

Hey everyone!

I hope this summer has been going well for all of you. I have been busy these past few weeks, and I can happily say that some of the busyness has been working on materials for book 3! I am hoping to have a short story posted on my site here before the end of the month. It is written, but I am still working on reviewing it. It takes place between where The Candescent Vessel left off, and before book 3 begins.  I plan on having a title for book 3 for everyone somewhat soon as well, so stay tuned for more info on both these great things, and of course more updates on The Sage of Hytrae trilogy!

Caught off guard, but still moving forward

Hey everyone!

So like much of the rest of the 90s babies and many more, I have been enchanted by Pokemon Go. It has been a bit of a distraction and its a distraction I was not prepared for (go team valor!). Games are a sizable part of my life, and I try to write either in replacement of gaming sessions, or when I have breaks in newer games.

This summer I have Overwatch (minor surprise since I approached it with skepticism), World of Warcraft: Legion is on the way and I am super excited for that, but I was not expecting Pokemon Go (which is what Pokefans have been asking for since 95!)

Anyway, back to what this Author Blog is about.  The final installment in The Sage of Hytrae trilogy is still underway.  Since my last two books have been told from different perspectives (one from Cyan’s and the second from Lucy’s), we will be doing something a bit different for book three.  It is my plan (and how I have already started writing) to tell this story from three different character’s perspectives. Two of which we have heard their voices as the narration of the first two books. Book three will be adding a third character (keeping with some themes mentioned in The Candesent Vessel if you want a sneak peek!) who we will meet very early in our journey to the trilogy’s conclusion.

Stay tuned for more news on The Sage of Hytrae trilogy!

The Candescent Vessel officially recognized under copyright

Hey everyone!

I am excited to show everyone what I got in the mail earlier this month!

That’s right, my second book is officially recognized as my own copyright by the US Copyright Office! 😀 If you haven’t had a chance to check it out here is a link to the kindle version/amazon paperback: The Candescent Vessel (The Sage of Hytrae Book 2) you can also find more links in the Where to Buy section at the top of the site.

It is always a good moment to see these kind of milestones with a published work. A big thank you to everyone who has bought my first and second books, number three is on the way. More on the third book coming soon!

May is here, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

Hey everyone!

I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday! I spent a fair bit of mine with my mom (who has helped me proof my books along with my wife), along with a portion of my family.

Spring is in full swing, and lots of people are starting to put out their gardens.  Fun fact: gardens are popular with home owners in the realm of Hytrae too. While you might not have read much about that fact in the past, you would have met no less than three farmers in the first two books. See if you can name one of the farmers in the comments (without looking it up in the books, that’d be cheating 😀 ).
